Email Warmup Tools and Pricing: 10 Vendors Compared

The same warmup service runs from $7.50 to $96 per mailbox a month, and at 50 mailboxes it costs more than a whole sending platform that includes it.

Every figure below was read off the vendor's own pricing page on 29 September 2026, in US dollars, and is quoted as published. This page compares on monthly billing, the rate you pay without a yearly commitment, and shows the annual rate beside it where the vendor publishes one. Where a vendor doesn't publish a number, this page says so rather than estimating.

Two findings up front, because they decide what you should buy:

  • The same nominal product ranges from $7.50 to $96 per mailbox per month on annual billing. A 12.8× spread for a service every vendor describes in near-identical language. Folderly is the top of that range and publishes only a yearly-billed rate.
  • At 50 mailboxes, standalone warmup costs more than a whole sending platform that includes warmup. Standalone runs $199 to $4,800 a month; the four sequencers with warmup included run $69 to $99.

Three pricing shapes (this is the part that matters)

Before the tables: warmup is sold in three structurally different ways, and comparing headline prices across them produces nonsense.

A. Per mailbox. A rate × your inbox count, usually with volume breakpoints. Scales linearly and punishes inbox-heavy setups. (Warmup Inbox, MailReach, Folderly)

B. Pooled daily volume, unlimited inboxes. You buy a total daily warmup send budget and split it across as many mailboxes as you like. Decouples price from inbox count entirely. (Mailivery, and it is the cheapest standalone option at scale because of this, not because the product is cheaper)

C. Included with the sender. Warmup as a feature of a sequencing platform, at no extra charge. The platform's price is driven by monthly email volume and contacts, not mailbox count. (Instantly, Smartlead, Saleshandy, lemlist)

Warmbox sits between A and B: fixed tiers with hard inbox caps.

Census: 5 of 6 publish a usable price. Warmy publishes a floor, which for budgeting purposes is not a price. It is an invitation to a call. Folderly publishes a price only for yearly billing, so any monthly comparison with it is uneven by construction; the tables below mark it.

The spread: $7.50/mailbox (Warmup Inbox Basic at 50 inboxes, annual) to $96/mailbox (Folderly, yearly). That is 12.8×. None of these vendors publishes evidence that would justify the difference, and none can: warmup effectiveness is not independently measurable from outside the mailbox providers.

Note what drives the bundled price: monthly send volume and contact counts, not mailbox count. Every entry tier here stops at 5,000 to 6,000 sends a month, except lemlist's. Forty mailboxes sending 3,000 emails a month in total fit the entry tier of Smartlead, Instantly and lemlist; Saleshandy's Starter connects them all but rotates a sequence across only 10.

The arithmetic

Warmup cost only, at three scales, on each vendor's published monthly-billing rate and its cheapest tier that covers the sending. Annual rates are in the notes.

Even at one mailbox, a full sending platform with warmup included (Smartlead Base, $39) costs $57 a month less than Folderly's yearly-billed warmup-only rate.

At ten mailboxes, standalone warmup runs $79 to $960/month and a sequencer that includes warmup runs $69 to $99/month. The cheapest standalone option, Mailivery, lands inside the bundled range, but it buys warmup alone; every bundled price also buys the sending. Ten mailboxes still ramping, and sending under 5,000 a month between them, fit the entry tiers instead: Smartlead $39, Saleshandy $41, Instantly $47.

Folderly$4,800 (yearly billing)$57,600$96 × 50

Compare like with like, on annual billing. Folderly's published rate puts warmup alone at $57,600 a year for a 50-mailbox setup. Saleshandy Pro on annual billing is $912 a year and includes the sequencer, the sending and the warmup. That is a 63× difference in the annual bill for a component that, by every vendor's own description, does the same job.

A correction to an earlier draft of this page, stated plainly: it priced this row on Smartlead Base at $39 and said Smartlead published no send ceiling. The pricing page does publish one: 6,000 emails a month on Base. At 33,000 sends the cheapest Smartlead tier that fits is Pro, at $94.

So when does standalone warmup make sense?

Three cases, and they're narrower than the category's marketing implies.

1. You send from something with no warmup. In-house systems, CRM-native senders, platforms you're locked into. This is the genuine buyer, and the one every vendor in the standalone table is actually serving.

2. You want placement testing more than warmup. MailReach's spam tester, Warmy's 500K US seed list, Folderly's Inbox Insights: in that case testing is the product and warmup is attached. Price it as a testing purchase: Folderly's Inbox Insights at $79/mo for 100 tests, or MailReach's extra spam-test credits at $95/mo for 200 or $210/mo for 500, compared against what your sender already bundles.

3. You distrust the bundled pool and want a different one. Defensible as a preference, unverifiable as a decision. No mailbox provider publishes anything about pool quality or pool detection, and every claim you'll read about it comes from a party selling a pool or selling an alternative to one. The honest state of that question.

If none of those apply and you're buying a sender anyway, you have already bought warmup. Smartlead is the one to read closely: its pool is graded by plan, so the warmup on Base is not the warmup on Pro.

And when does no warmup tool make sense?

One or two mailboxes. Ramp by hand over a month with real conversations: better signals, the pool question never arises, and it costs the domain and the mailbox: roughly $7–8 in month one. The day-by-day plan, with copy-paste DNS records.

What none of these prices include

Warmup is the small line. The full deliverability bill:

ComponentTypical costNote
Sending domains$10–15/yr eachOne per 3–5 mailboxes is common practice
Mailbox hosting, direct~$6–7/user/mo in most regionsWorkspace pricing is geo-localised: read at ₹270/user/mo on workspace.google.com/pricing, 29 Sep 2026 [unverified]
Mailbox hosting, reseller$2.50–$4.50/inbox/mo for real Workspace/365 mailboxesVendor-reported range [unverified]
Email verificationPer record, volume-dependentNon-negotiable; bounces kill domains faster than anything else
Placement testingFree tier → $79/mo (Folderly Inbox Insights, 100 tests) → $210/mo (MailReach, 500 extra credits)Often bundled with standalone warmup
Warmup$0 extra when bundled → $4,800/mo (Folderly at 50 mailboxes, yearly billing)This page
Operator timeThe largest line, never invoicedSee what's actually automated

At 50 mailboxes across 12 domains, hosting alone is roughly $125–350/month before anything else. Warmup is rarely the number that decides a stack, which is exactly why the 63× spread above goes unexamined.

Method and limits

Ten vendors, sampled: not the full category. Every figure was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 29 September 2026 with the currency set to US dollars. Where a page offers a billing toggle, both rates were read and the monthly one is used in the tables, with the annual rate alongside. Folderly shows only a yearly-billed rate, so its rows are marked. Where a page contradicts itself (Mailivery's daily volumes), both figures are given. Cost-model rows are arithmetic on those published rates plus the stated tier ceilings; they are not quotes, and enterprise/custom tiers are excluded because they are not published.

Vendor claims about network size, daily limits, simulated response rates, seed lists and detection are reported as claims, attributed, and not verified here. Prices in this category change without notice: re-read the source page before committing.

Not tested: whether any of this works. Warmup effectiveness cannot be credibly measured from outside the mailbox providers, and the parties claiming to measure it are the parties selling it. This page prices the products. It does not endorse the category.

What this page does not know

This page does not know whether any of these products works, or whether the $96 tool does more than the $19 one. Answering that needs matched domains with identical DNS, lists and copy, each warmed by a different product and measured by independent seed placement and Postmaster domain reputation for eight weeks. No one without a stake has published that test, and this page has not run it.
It also does not know three things the vendors leave open: Folderly's monthly-billing rate (only the yearly one is shown), which of Mailivery's two sets of daily volumes is current (its plan cards and comparison section disagree), and what separates Smartlead's Foundation, Growth and Premium warmup pools. These are list prices read on one day, not invoices. Until a test exists, choose on the send ceiling and the billing basis, which are published, rather than on pool quality, which is not.

Questions

How much does email warmup cost?
From $7.50 to $96 per mailbox per month on annual billing, read from vendor pages on 29 September 2026. On monthly billing the cheapest single-inbox options are $19 (Warmup Inbox Basic, Warmbox Solo). Sequencers such as Smartlead, Saleshandy, Instantly and lemlist include warmup in plans from $39 to $69 a month.
Do I need a separate warmup tool?
Usually not if you are buying a sequencer, because all four checked here include warmup. Standalone tools make sense when your sending system has no warmup, when you mainly want placement testing, or when you prefer a different pool.
What is the cheapest email warmup tool?
For one inbox, Warmup Inbox Basic and Warmbox Solo at $19 a month on monthly billing, or $15 on annual. At scale, Mailivery is cheapest among standalone tools because it prices a shared daily volume rather than per mailbox: $199 a month covers 50 mailboxes.
Does Smartlead's $39 plan cover a large sending setup?
Not above 6,000 emails a month, which is Base's published ceiling. Unlimited email accounts does not mean unlimited sends. At about 33,000 sends a month the cheapest Smartlead tier that fits is Pro, at $94.
How much is MailReach per mailbox?
It depends on how many you warm. On monthly billing: $25 each for 1 to 5 mailboxes, $19.50 for 6 to 20, $18 for 21 to 50 and $16 for 51 to 100. Annual billing takes 20% off each band.
